Check if you’re eligible to apply

You’re eligible to apply for the Disaster Relief Grant if:

  • your primary place of residence or business is in a disaster-impacted area, opens in new window declared by the Australian Government
  • your primary place of residence or business has experienced damage where major or minor repairs are required to the interior or exterior of the property
  • you’re unable to reside in the property due to damage, total loss or any potential health risk
  • you’re a business or agriculture customer who has suffered damage to property, equipment, fencing or loss of stock and livestock
  • you were a NAB customer at the time specified
  • you’re applying within the grant eligibility period

You aren’t eligible to apply for the Disaster Relief Grant if:

  • you’ve experienced loss or damage to a non-primary residence such as an investment property or holiday home
  • one or more residents at this property or business have applied for this grant already (only one grant per residence or business can be requested).

Have these items ready

The information we require from you will depend on whether your residence or business was impacted.

If you’ve suffered damage to your primary residence, you’ll need to provide:

  1. residential address
  2. details of damage to the property, including clear photographic evidence 
  3. account details for payment to be made if the grant application is accepted.

Note that non-traditional places of residence such as caravans are eligible.

If you’ve suffered damage to your business, you’ll need to provide:

  1. business address
  2. details of damage to the business, including clear photographic evidence 
  3. account details for payment to be made if the grant application is accepted.

If your home or business address has changed recently, you may need to provide proof of address.

Providing photo evidence

You’ll be required to share three to eight photos of damage to the property or business. Photos should meet the following criteria:

  • at least one photo of the street view of the property or business
  • additional photos that show the damage to the property or business (not including home contents).

 

How does it work?

  1. Submit your application 
  2. We'll verify your request 
  3. NAB will contact you within three to five business days with the outcome of your application
  4. If successful, the grant funds will be deposited into your nominated account.
