Getting started The application process

Step 1

Check your eligibility

  • You are a sole trader, a partnership, a director of an Australian private company or a trustee of a trust.
  • You are living in Australia and you are an Australian resident for tax purposes.
  • Your ABN or ACN is active, unless you are a sole trader with no ABN.

Step 2

Apply online in less than 15 minutes

New NAB customers

If you are new to NAB or don't have an active NAB account, you'll need to provide at least two forms of ID to complete security identification.

Existing NAB customers

Provide your NAB ID and follow the application prompts to securely log into NAB Internet Banking.

Step 3

What happens after you successfully apply online?

  • Your business transaction account will be opened automatically.
  • Details of your new business transaction account will be sent to your nominated email address.
  • Use these details to access your account in NAB Internet Banking and the NAB app.

Closing your account

You or any other authorised person can request to close your account by visiting a NAB branch, calling our contact centre, contacting your banker or by providing written notice. There may be certain circumstances in which we are unable to immediately close your account, and in these cases we may request further information from you.
