Eligibility criteria for applying online


To apply online, please ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You are a sole trader, a partnership, a director of an Australian private company or a trustee of a trust.

  • You are living in Australia and an Australian resident for tax purposes.

  • Your ABN or ACN is active, unless you’re a sole trader, joint venture or trust with no ABN.

What you’ll need


New NAB customers

Have ready at least two of the below forms of ID to complete security identification. Providing more documents will streamline the account opening process.

  • Australian driver’s licence

  • Australian passport

  • Medicare card

  • Foreign passport.

If you're going to select Australian driver’s licence, you'll need to provide your driver’s licence card number and your licence number. How to find your driver’s licence and card numbers.

Existing NAB Customers

Save time by supplying your NAB ID and password when you start your online application. Have your mobile phone handy to complete SMS authentication. 

Note, your NAB ID is an 8 to 10 digit number you use to log into NAB Internet Banking. You can find it above the black strip on the back of your NAB debit or credit card.
