Create a PayID
Make sure you’re logged into NAB Connect to get started.
- Select Payments and select ‘PayID register’.
- Select Create PayID and select an account you would like to use with your PayID.
- Choose the PayID you want to create – phone number, email address or ABN.
- Choose the PayID name you would like to use for your business.
- If you used an email address or a mobile number as your PayID, you’ll need to complete the verification process.
- You’ll receive a confirmation message that your PayID is now ready to use. Remember to display your PayID on your invoices along with your BSB and account number.
Update your PayID
There are multiple ways you can apply changes to your PayID. Make sure you’re logged into NAB Connect to make these updates.
Lock or unlock a PayID
If you want to temporarily disable your PayID, you can lock it. When you want to use it again, you can unlock it.
- Select Payments and select ‘PayID register’.
- Select ‘Update PayID’.
- To lock your PayID, select ‘Lock’ from the Status drop-down list. Before the PayID is locked, a warning message will confirm that the PayID won’t be able to receive payments.
- Select Update to lock the PayID. The 'PayID Register' will confirm the change.
- If you want to unlock your PayID, select ‘Unlock’ from the Status drop-down list and select Save. The 'PayID Register' screen will confirm the change.
Close a PayID
If you’d like to permanently stop your PayID, you can close it.
- Select Payments and select ‘PayID register’.
- Select ‘Update PayID’.
- Select ‘Close’ from the Status drop-down list.
- Before the PayID is closed, a warning message will confirm that the PayID won’t be able to receive payments.
- Select Update to close the PayID. The 'PayID Register' screen will confirm the change.
Transfer a PayID
You can choose to link your PayID to an account at another financial institution.
- Select Payments and select ‘PayID register’.
- Select ‘Update PayID’.
- Select ‘Transfer’ from the Status drop-down list.
- Before the PayID is transferred, a warning message will confirm your NAB account will continue to receive payments until it is set up with the other financial institution.
- Select Update to transfer the PayID. The 'PayID Register' screen will confirm the change.
Re-link a PayID to another account
You can update the account that’s linked to your PayID at any time.
- Select Payments and select ‘PayID register’.
- Select ‘Update PayID’
- Select the new account from the Account drop-down list.
- A message asks you to confirm the change.
- Select Update to re-link the PayID to the new account. The 'PayID Register' screen will confirm the change.
Change a PayID name
You can update the name that’s linked to your PayID at any time.
- Select Payments and select ‘PayID register’.
- Select ‘Update PayID’.
- Select a new PayID name from the list of options.
- A message asks you to confirm the change.
- Select Update to confirm the new PayID name. The 'PayID Register' screen will confirm the change.
Please note
- If you’re transferring a PayID, you will continue to receive payments to your NAB account until you’ve created your PayID with the other institution. You need to complete the transfer within 14 days or you’ll have to start the transfer process again.
