What is NAB Messaging?

NAB Messaging is a fast and easy way to answer your banking questions.

When logged into the NAB app or NAB Internet Banking, the Virtual Assistant can assist with most questions. If you need extra help, our bankers are available during business hours to support with everyday banking queries.

For business accounts, you’ll need to call us.

How to message NAB

The NAB Virtual Assistant can answer your everyday banking questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For the best experience, log into the NAB app and NAB Internet Banking to ask questions in a secure environment, with banker support if needed between the hours of 7:00am to 11:00pm, seven days a week.

Instructions for mobile devices

  1. Log into the NAB app.

  2. Tap the NAB Messaging icon.

  3. Tap Start Conversation.

If you have notifications switched on, we’ll tell you when a banker responds.

NAB Internet Banking

Instructions for web browsers

  1. Log into NAB Internet Banking with your 8 to 10-digit NAB ID and password.

  2. Select the NAB Messaging icon.

  3. Select Start Conversation.

Tips for a better conversation

  • Ask one question at a time.

  • Type your full question before sending it.

  • Avoid account-specific information, for example, ‘How do I view my statement?’ not ‘How do I view my statement for my account ending in 1234?’.

  • Avoid abbreviations. For example, ‘account’ not ‘acct’.

Privacy and security

NAB Messaging is secure when you log into the NAB app or NAB Internet Banking, but you should never share sensitive information such as account numbers, passwords, PINs or other personal details.

Conversations are recorded for training and quality purposes and any personal information you provide will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Notification.
