Security We need to verify your identity

In this application, we need to successfully, electronically verify your identity to open your new account. You’ll need to provide at least one of the following forms of ID, but it’s best to have two ready in case we need more information. 

  • Australian passport

  • Foreign passport

  • Australian driver’s licence

  • Medicare card (can only be used in conjunction with another form of ID if you’re 18 years or older)

  • Birth certificate (for applicants aged 18 or under)

If you’re under the age of 18, you’ll need to have two forms of ID from that list. If you’re under the age of 14, you’ll need to visit a NAB branch with your parent or guardian to open your account.

If you're Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and you don't have any of the required forms of identification, please call our Indigenous Customer Service line on 1800 966 100 Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 7:00pm (AEST/AEDT) or visit your nearest NAB branch

  • The application will ask you to log into NAB Internet Banking, so you’ll need your NAB IDYour NAB ID is an 8 to 10 digit number given to you when you first become a NAB customer.  There are three ways to find your NAB ID: 1. We send it to you via email and SMS when you first become a customer. 2. On the back of your credit card or debit card, above the magnetic strip. Not all cards have this. 3. In the NAB app once you've registered for internet banking. Your NAB ID can be found under More and then My Details. This option is only available for personal profiles (not business ones). and password ready.
