Ways you can notify us
There are two ways to notify us of a death: using the Australian Death Notification Service (ADNS) or contacting us directly. Using the ADNS is the quickest and easiest way, particularly if you have multiple organisations you need to notify.
Using the Australian Death Notification Service
The Australian Death Notification Service, opens in new window makes it easy to notify us and any other relevant organisations at the same time. After lodging the notification via ADNS, we will receive advice from them and be in touch with you as soon as possible using the contact details you provided.
Please note: A death certificate must have been issued by Births, Deaths and Marriages to use this service.
Using our online Deceased Customer Notification Form
You can notify us of a death using our online Deceased Customer Notification Form. This can be completed by anyone, but we can only provide account information and finalise the accounts via the Legal Personal Representative (such as the Executor or Administrator).
If this isn’t you, you’ll need to give us the contact details of the Legal Personal Representative when filling out the form. We’ll contact them directly to discuss next steps.
