Getting started The application process
Step 1
Check your eligibility
- You are a sole trader, a partnership, a director of an Australian private company or a trustee of a trust.
- You are living in Australia and you are an Australian resident for tax purposes.
- Your ABN or ACN is active, unless you are a sole trader with no ABN.
Step 2
Apply online in less than 15 minutes
New NAB customers
If you are new to NAB or don't have an active NAB account, you'll need to provide at least two forms of ID to complete security identification.
Existing NAB customers
Provide your NAB ID and follow the application prompts to securely log into NAB Internet Banking.
Step 3
What happens after you successfully apply online?
- Your business transaction account will be opened automatically.
- Details of your new business transaction account will be sent to your nominated email address.
- Use these details to access your account in NAB Internet Banking and the NAB app.

Banker assisted transactions
For example, if a banker assisted deposit is made to a NAB Business Everyday Account ($0 Monthly Fee Option) and the deposit contains three cheques, the total fee will be $12. This is comprised of a $3 deposit fee plus three cheque fees ($3 each).

Electronic transactions include
Transactions to/from your account conducted via NAB Internet Banking (including bill payment BPAY®), NAB Telephone Banking (including bill payment BPAY®), Osko and other NPP payments, EFTPOS and periodical payments, direct debits, direct credits and other funds transfers to/from your account but do not include: – banker assisted transactions to/from your account where a card or card PIN are used in connection with the transaction/s; or – unless otherwise specified.
Excludes all non-NAB ATMs within Australia and overseas ATMs. Additional service fees and charges will apply to other services such as international money transfers, as detailed in Section 5 – Other service fees of 'Business Banking Fees – A Guide to Fees and Charges'. Closing your account
You or any other authorised person can request to close your account by visiting a NAB branch, calling our contact centre, contacting your banker or by providing written notice. There may be certain circumstances in which we are unable to immediately close your account, and in these cases we may request further information from you.
