What payment methods can I use?

NAB Portal Pay allows you to make payment by bank account (direct debit) or, where your agent has enabled by card (debit or credit cards). NAB Portal Pay only accepts payments from Australian bank accounts, and VISA or Mastercard.

Set up a preferred payment method

When you designate a card or bank account as your preferred method, it will automatically appear as the default option when setting up a payment. You’ll still be able to choose a different card or bank account for both new and existing payments by selecting a different option in the payment method drop-down.

To save a payment method as your preferred option, simply select the Make this my preferred payment method checkbox when adding or editing your payment details. Please note this action will override your previous preference if you had selected another payment method as your preferred option.

Amend saved card or bank account details

NAB Portal Pay only allows you to amend certain saved payment details within the portal.

For a card, you can amend the expiry date, CVV or the nickname. To change the card number, you’ll need to delete your old card from your wallet and add a new card.

For a bank account, you’ll only be able to amend the account name. If you want to amend the BSB and account number, you’ll need to delete your old account details and add your new account details by following these instructions.

  1. Log in to NAB Portal Pay, opens in new window, enter your email address and password and select Log in.
  2. Select Wallet from the grey navigation bar or select Manage wallet on the wallet tile.
  3. Select the chevron (>) button for the payment method you would like to amend.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Select Save details.
