Things to know about push notifications
- Push notifications are messages that are sent directly to your mobile device as soon as the relevant event (like exceeding your credit limit) occurs, without you needing to open the NAB app.
- They are helpful for when you’re overseas and you are sent a One Time Password (OTP) to your phone.
- Any primary account holder of a NAB account can turn on push notifications. They’re a great way to stay on top of your banking.
- The information in push notifications is current at the time the push notification is generated. So it’s a good idea to double-check your balance in the NAB app in case your push notification was delayed for some reason.

The information in push notifications is current at the time the push notification is generated. So it’s good to double-check your balance in the NAB app in case your push notification was delayed for some reason. If you’re out of reach for an extended period of time and don’t have internet connection you may not receive your notification even though it’s been sent by NAB. If you’ve added an additional card holder or have replaced a lost card, you’ll need to turn your notifications OFF and ON again, to re-establish notifications.
