New cards for additional cardholders
If your additional cardholder has a NAB Low Fee, NAB Low Rate or a NAB Low Rate Platinum, their card will be replaced and a new card will be sent.
If your additional cardholder has a NAB Premium Credit Card, it will be renamed NAB Low Fee Platinum Credit Card and a new card will be sent.
Your additional cardholder’s new NAB Credit card will have a different card number, expiry date and CVV. Having different card details for your additional cardholder makes it easier for you and your additional cardholder to:
- Identify which cardholder has made which transactions on your statements, in the NAB app or in NAB Internet Banking.
- Temporarily block, unblock or replace lost or stolen cards in the NAB app or in NAB Internet Banking without needing to cancel both cards if only one’s gone missing.
- Set up recurring payments on the additional card.
What this means for you
The above changes don’t affect how you, as the primary cardholder, use your card day to day. You can continue using your existing card as you normally would and any direct debits, recurring or automatic payments you have set up will continue. There will be no changes to your credit card terms and conditions, annual card fee or interest rates.
When we send your additional cardholder the new card, it will look different to the one they currently have. They’ll also be able to see their new card with the new look in the NAB app and NAB Internet Banking. We’ll also update the look of your card in the NAB app and NAB Internet Banking, but we won’t be issuing you a new card with the new look until your current card expires.
What else you need to know
You’ll be notified via SMS when the new card for your additional cardholder is being sent. At this time, your additional cardholder will also see their new card details in the NAB app and NAB Internet Banking. If your additional cardholder uses Apple Pay or Google Pay, you’ll receive another SMS when the new card can be added to their digital wallet(s). Please ensure your additional cardholder’s new card is signed when received.
The new card is sent activated, which means they can start using the new card once it arrives. They should destroy the existing card once they receive the new card by cutting it in half, making sure to cut through the card number, expiry date, microchip, magnetic strip, and security code (CVV). The existing card will continue to work for 60 days after the new card arrives.
