Things to know about PayID®
- PayIDs® can be used by both personal and business customers.
- Your PayID® is a unique identifier linked to your transaction account and can be your email address, mobile number or ABN.
- Payments using a PayID® will be paid within 60 seconds in most instances.
- If you want to edit, transfer, lock or close your PayID®, use NAB Internet Banking on a web browser.
Steps to create a PayID®
NAB app

Log into the NAB app and tap More (if you’re using an Android phone, tap the Menu icon).

Tap Settings.

Tap Payments.

In the list, tap View and create PayIDs® and tap Continue.

Tap Account and select the account you want to create a PayID® for.

Tap PayID® and select a PayID® type from the list.

Enter the correct details for your PayID®.

Under PayID® Name, select a PayID® name from the list to help people identify who they’re paying.

Review all details and tap Create PayID®.

If asked, enter the verification code sent to your mobile device.

Your PayID® has been successfully created.
NAB Internet Banking
Instructions for web browsers

Log into NAB Internet Banking with your 8 to10-digit NAB id and password.

Select Profile & Settings in the menu. Select ‘PayID® Settings’ from the drop-down menu.

Select Create PayID®.

Read and accept the PayID Terms of Use.

Tick the check box.
-
Select Next.
-
Select an eligible account to create a PayID® for.

Choose the type of PayID® (email address, mobile number or ABN).

Enter the correct details for selected PayID® type.

To confirm the PayID® is available, select Check availability.

Select your PayID® name from the options available to help people identify who they’re paying.

Select Next.

Enter the security code sent to your mobile device or email and select Submit.

Your PayID® has been successfully created.
Things to know about updating PayIDs®
Once you’ve created your PayID® you’ll be able to update it through NAB Internet Banking (updating your PayID® is not currently available via the NAB app).
You’ll be able to:
- Move your PayID® between financial institutions by updating the status to ‘Transfer’.
- Update the PayID® name that identifies your PayID® from a list of approved options.
- Change the account your PayID® is linked to.
- Lock a PayID®, so no payments can be received to the PayID®.
- Unlock a PayID® that has previously been locked.
- Close a PayID®. A closed PayID® can be linked to another account - within NAB or another financial institution. While closed, the PayID® will not receive funds.
