Track your bills with Upcoming - NAB

What is 'Upcoming'?

Upcoming is a feature of the NAB app and NAB Internet Banking that’s ready to use when you login.

It uses information about previous regular payments made from personal accounts to predict bill or subscription payments coming up in the next 30 days.

Use it as a reminder to help you track and manage regular bills and subscription payments.

How Upcoming can help

Better budgeting

When you have details of predicted future bill due dates and payment amounts, it makes it easier to create and maintain a realistic budget.

Forward planning

Plan ahead so that you have time to transfer money between accounts, which may help you avoid overdrawing an account.

Avoid missed payments

Use Upcoming as a reminder to look for missed bills or invoices in your inbox or post to help avoid missed payments.

How our bill tracker works

Identifies payment patterns

Upcoming identifies transactions on your personal accounts that appear to be a pattern of regular payments to certain service providers

Estimates due dates and amounts

Once Upcoming identifies a pattern of three regular payments from the same merchant, it estimates the amount and due date of the next predicted payment based on previous payment dates and amounts.

Displays details to help you budget

View the next three predicted payments due or select View all to see predicted payments due in the next 30 days with the service provider name, predicted payment date and amount.

Lets you edit details

You can update the predicted bill details for accuracy like the bill amount, due date, frequency of the bill and the account where the bill is expected to be paid from.

Important information about Upcoming

  • A prediction in Upcoming does not mean money will be automatically drawn from an account. It’s only a prediction based on historical payments.

  • Upcoming may not display the same amounts and dates due that appear on an actual bill.

  • Predicted payments may not actually be a regular bill or subscription payment.

  • Upcoming can’t predict every possible bill or subscription payment you need to pay.

  • Upcoming will stop displaying a predicted bill if the bill isn’t paid as expected and after the due date has passed.

If Upcoming sees regular payments to one of these types of merchants, it will display it as a predicted bill:

  • Utilities
  • Insurance
  • Telecommunications
  • Digital subscriptions
  • Gyms and fitness
  • Education
  • Childcare
  • Aged care
  • Government
  • Amusement parks and zoos
  • Security services
  • Dating agencies
  • Bookkeeping and accounting
  • Legal services
  • Advertising
