A bit about NAB Pride
NAB Pride is a support and advocacy group for our LGBTQIA+ employees and people everywhere. It's our job to nurture a safe and inclusive workplace that celebrates the diversity of our people and empowers them to be a voice in the community.
What we do
We're working to shift the conversation beyond inclusion and move towards advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Recently we've been working to educate about underrepresented groups in the LGBTQIA+ community – in particular, those who identify as bisexual, transgender and/or intersex. We’re also empowering LGBTQIA+ communities in rural areas and strengthening the support of allies.
Ally training
We run seminars, online learning and awareness sessions for employees.
Events
We're actively involved with big days on the LGBTQIA+ calendar and we regularly host networking events that are open to our members and the wider public.
Consultancy
We help other organisations connect with LGBTQIA+ networks in business and the broader community.
Partnerships
We're proud partners of Midsumma Festival, Pride Cup and the GLOBE (Gay and Lesbian Organisation of Business and Enterprise) Australia.
In the community
We're members of Pride In Diversity, opens in new window – Australia's only not-for-profit workplace program that supports Australian employers with LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Where you’ll see us
We love getting out and about in the community. While the list is always growing, these are just some of the other key events that we're proud to be part of each year.
Midsumma Festival
Typically taking place in January, Midsumma Festival, opens in new window is Melbourne's premier queer arts and cultural festival. We've been the proud principal partner since 2013 and every year more and more of us are joining in the Pride March.
Pride Cup
NAB is the proud partner of Pride Cup, opens in new window, an organisation dedicated to changing sporting culture so that LGBTQIA+ people feel safe, welcome and accepted.
Pride Month
The inaugural NAB Pride Day was held in November 2018 and encourages employees to celebrate gender and sexual diversity at NAB. Now, we celebrate throughout the whole of June for Pride Month Australia.
Wear it Purple Day
This is an important day for LGBTQIA+ youth. We encourage our employees to show their support by wearing purple and donating money. We also set up installations at our NAB offices.
IDAHOBIT
The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia is held on 17 May each year.
World AIDS Day
On December 1 each year we encourage employees to volunteer, make donations and get involved in raising awareness across the organisation about the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS.
International Transgender Day of Visibility
Held on 31 March every year, this event celebrates transgender people and raises awareness about the discrimination they face around the world.
