Group Executive, Technology and Enterprise Operations

Patrick Wright became Group Executive, Technology and Enterprise Operations of National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) in April 2017. Patrick has more than 30 years’ experience within banking and technology sectors, holding executive and senior management roles across Australia, UK and US.
As Group Executive of T&EO, Patrick leads all aspects of technology and operations. Patrick is responsible for NAB’s technology transformational change program, delivering sustainable cost reductions along with numerous regulatory and cloud-based programs. He is focused on managing and reducing system outages, as well as leading the bank’s 100% public cloud-first migration and insourcing program.
Responsibilities extend to developing industry leading cyber and financial crime capabilities through a national approach to public-private partnerships. Under Patrick’s leadership, T&EO have established the Group’s first global Financial Crime function.
Patrick is also the Chairman of the NAB India and Vietnam Innovation Centre Board. Prior to joining NAB, Patrick was at Barclays for more than four years, most notably as Chief Operations and Technology Officer for Barclaycard and Barclays America. In this role, he was responsible for the divisional technology and operations, as well as running several Group-wide operational functions including collections, fraud and call centres.
Prior to joining Barclays, Patrick worked at JP Morgan Chase in the US for more than 17 years. He held a range of senior roles including Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Operations.
Patrick brings extensive experience driving major transformations in large financial services companies focusing on customer outcomes.
Originally from the US, Patrick holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas, Arlington and is now a proud citizen of Australia.
