Group Chief Risk Officer

Shaun Dooley was appointed Group Chief Risk Officer in October 2018. Shaun has more than 30 years of experience in Finance, Risk and Corporate & Institutional banking.

As Group Chief Risk Officer, Shaun is responsible for the Risk function across the NAB Group. He leads a team of highly skilled Risk professionals, providing review and challenge, advice and guidance to all NAB Business and Enterprise Units on all financial and non-financial risks.

Prior to this, Shaun was NAB Group Treasurer where he led teams across Australia and overseas to manage the Group’s capital, funding, liquidity and financial risk management of the balance sheet.

Before this, Shaun led the Institutional Banking, Corporate Finance and Financial Institutions teams. In these roles, he led a number of strategic projects to expand the footprint and capability of the bank and was responsible for building the bank’s global relationships with financial institutions. Shaun joined NAB in 1992 as a relationship banker in the Corporate Banking group. Prior to joining NAB, Shaun worked for Chase Manhattan Bank Australia and Elders Finance Group.

From this experience, Shaun brings extensive knowledge of the Australian and international corporate banking sector together with a deep understanding of the risk management issues confronting financial institutions.

Shaun holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and a Masters of Science in Risk Management from NYU Stern School of Business. Shaun is also the President of Hockey Victoria and a Director of the St Kilda Football Club Foundation Limited.
